The Cock hotel has a long-standing reputation in the local area. Built in the 15th century, the hotel hosts 30 en suite bedrooms, all of which have recently been refurbished with a slightly more contemporary finish. The refurbished bar and restaurant areas offer a comfortable yet traditional setting to enjoy the seasonal menus the Cock has to offer. These areas have been used for many years with travellers at the Cock hotel and the Bull opposite sharing tales of the road, from which the famous phrase ‘cock and bull story’ derives.
